LocalScoutQuest
A Quest to encounter, immerse, and learn from local cooperatives
This Model is at Crowd.
Crowd is where a Model sits before anyone has proven it works. Nothing on this page has been tested, submitted to the Cloud, or accepted as Canon. The first copies came off the press on September 1, 2026, and the first conversation using them has not happened yet.
It is here so it can be read, argued with, and picked apart while it is still easy to change.
A small book about cooperatives, made with the people running them.
People run things together all over this city. Gardens, houses, kitchens, print shops, bands. Most of it was worked out from scratch by whoever showed up, and most of what they learned stays on the block it was learned on.
Unity Quest World collects it. The Local Scout Quest is how the collecting happens: someone walks into a place that already works, sits down with the people who run it, and fills in a booklet together. Not a survey. A visit with a form in it.
The booklet
Sixteen pages, printed on three folded sheets and stitched through the spine. A cover, an introduction, twelve Facet pages, and an outro that records what the group agreed to. Every page is blank where it counts.
Each Facet page asks three questions and offers a strip of likely answers to circle, ending in a blank for the answer nobody thought of. The last question on every page is the same shape: could we print this?
The twelve Facets
- PartyWho’s here?
- GuideWho shows a new person the ropes?
- TrustWhat is this on paper?

- WorldWhere is this?
- StudyWhat do people learn just by being here?
- StoryHow did this start?
- StyleWhat does it look and sound like when it’s going well?

- EmptyThe blank page. Draft what a reader should find.
What a group gets
Every group gets a Sheet of its own in Unity Quest World — one sheet of paper, two pages, front and back. Groups working together can share a Sheet between them. What goes on it belongs to the group that filled it in.
- Your pages, in your words, in the same format as everyone else’s
- Credit for what you contribute — named, always
- A spot on the Chart, the map at the center of the book
- Free. The first edition costs contributors nothing
- Nothing prints that you haven’t seen
